Aileene A. Henderson, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister of Bakersfield, California passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019. She was a former resident of East Canton, and Waynesburg, Ohio, residing in  California for the past 12 years. Aileene, 93, was born November 17, 1925 in Aultman, Ohio and graduated from Green High School. She retired from the Hoover Company after 23 years of service. Aileene is a long time member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Waynesburg, serving on the usher board and singing in the choir until moving to California. Aileene loved spending time with her family, going to the casinos, dancing and having a good time. Among her many accomplishments, Aileene worked hard in school, graduating at the top of her class and showed an aptitude for the performing arts. She was an excellent dancer, and excelled in public speaking. Coming from a musical family, it was "no surprise" that singing came naturally to her. Another great accomplishment of Aileene's,  is that she graduated from Washington Beauty Academy in Akron, Ohio and earned the title of Licensed Cosmetologist. She was predeceased by her parents the late Robert and Laura Griffin; her loving husband of 51 years, Elmer Henderson; siblings: Mary Lou; Robert Jr; Anzella; Myrtle Tan; Janice; Arvenia; and Johnny. She is survived by her children: William (Lori) Henderson; Charles Henderson;  Veronica (Michael) Cheek, Sr., Dean Henderson; Althea Henderson; as well as siblings: Allen (Dorlean) Griffin; Vera Griffin; and Vivian Reid; brother in law Donald (Thelma) Henderson; sisters in law; Dr. Delores Henderson; Margaret Henderson; Rudy Henderson; Shirley Kennard; and goddaughter Robin Lemon; loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
