WANDA J. (GRIZZARD) HOOD

Wanda J. Hood (née Grizzard) passed away peacefully on Thursday June 14, 2018 at Aultman Hospital surrounded by family and friends from complications related to cancer which she was diagnosed with in 2009. She was a life long resident of Stark County. She was born in Massillon on December 3, 1962 and was the daughter of Nadine Grizzard and the late Charles Grizzard. She attended Washington High School.

Wanda Grizzard married Robert Hood on November 22, 1986. Robert will remember the 31 years they shared with their daughter Julisa. Before her extended illness Wanda worked at McKinley Health Care and also in housekeeping for Hilton Gardens. She loved to sew and enjoyed cooking. She looked forward to movie night with daughter Julisa and grandchild Jurnee whom she affectionately called her “Grand suga”. Jurnee will miss calling out for her “NaNa”. 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brother, William Martin; sisters, Sally Grizzard and Felicia Crawford; step mother, Gwendolyn Grizzard-Parrish; grandchildren, Jourdyn and Jayce Hood. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Robert Jr.; daughter, Julisa; granddaughter, Jurnee Hood; sisters, Carolyn, Patricia, Clestine Grizzard of Massillon, Mishawna Grizzard of Akron and Callie Grizzard of Pennsylvania;  brothers, Bobby (Jennifer), Mark Grizzard of Massillon and Lee Crawford of Canton; extended daughters, Ariel Morgan, Satairia Isles  Ebony & Ivory Hollamon. .
