Theodis “Ted” Walker was born to the late Alto and Eddie Lee on June 13, 1953 in Midway, Alabama and gained his heavenly wings on July 6, 2018. He was a kind hearted person who would help any and everybody. He worked at Tyson Berring and the Massillon Food Bank and also did lawn care for his neighborhood and also an avid chess player, still teaching them in the nursing home. He grew up in Akron and attended Akron South High School, then moving to Massillon in 1976 and later meeting and married Yolanda Turner. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Yolanda; (his son’s mother) Wilhelmena Gaines; brother-in-law, Carroll Rhock; sisters-in-law, Leona Walker, Patricia Walker; special cousin, Dennis Temple, Shirley Smedley Smith, Lynn Walker and niece Lynnell Walker. Theodis is survived by his son Cedric (Mandy) Gaines; grandchildren, Deonte, Jey’va and Olyvia; step children, Dante and Katrina; brothers, Alto, Jr., Curtis, Charles (Selma) all of Akron; Grey of Massillon; sister, Dorothy Rhock of Camden, N.J. and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
