Sherry Yvonne (Medley) Perry was born on October 5, 1950, the firstborn of Rev. John M. and Betty J. Medley, in Medina, Ohio. Sherry was kind to all, and made many friends at school, among her neighbors and coworkers, and at church. She gained her heavenly wings on July 4, 2019.
Music was Sherry’s first love. She played the saxophone, clarinet, and her most beloved piano. She directed her junior choir and mass choir at Fellowship Baptist Church, where her father pastored. As an adult, Sherry spent many years directing the Mass Choir and Sunrise Choir at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Akron. Singing was her passion, especially songs that lifted up the name of Jesus.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. John and Betty Medley, sister Judi Medley Varner, and brother Johnny Medley. She leaves to mourn her husband, Leon, sons Leon II (Jen), Matthew (Kelli), granddaughter Quinn, grandson Bryce, sister Beverly (Roger), brother Fred (Carolene) a granddaughter to come, and a host of family, friends, and many loving acquaintances.
