On September 27, 2018 the Lord called Sanford Lane Sr. home at the age of 97. He was born on April 15, 1921 in Choctaw, Mississippi to the late Viola Price and John Lane. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, he was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. Sanford retired from B.F. Goodrich after 35 years of service. He was a member of Phoenix Lodge #112. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Sanford Lane Jr.; brothers, James Earl and John Henry; sister, Virgie Coleman; wife, Mable Farrior; son-in-law, Lane T. Knight Sr.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Lane; grandson, Brian Knight. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Knight of Munroe Falls, OH, Brenda Payne of Tucson, Arizona and Sharon (Joseph) Lewis of Akron; sons, Allan Lane of Atlanta, GA, Myron (Lois) Lane of Dayton, OH, Wilford Lane of Akron, OH and Reginald (Irma) Lane of Raleigh, NC; sister, Lavada Howard of South Bend, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
