Mrs. Pauline Rudolph McMeans was born in Braddock, PA on October 9, 1923 to the late Walter Rudolph and Leola (Castleberry) Rudolph. She was the youngest of five children. She married the late Vorger McMeans on February 18, 1943. Following her husband’s honorable discharge from the United States Army, the couple moved to Canton, OH in May of 1953.
Mrs. McMeans had been a cook and a school crossing guard, but her main occupation was being a mother, raising her family, and being the neighborhood mom. She never met a stranger and was always willing and ready to lend a helping hand. She was a member of People’s Baptist Church and had been a member of the Jubilee Chorus until failing health prohibited her attendance.
Mrs. McMeans departed this life on October 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and her husband Vorger. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Julian Paul McMeans (Joann) of Mobile, AL; and two daughters, Musetta Marie Armstrong (Michael) of Columbus, GA; and Judy Kay McMeans-White (Maurice) of Canton, OH; nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
“Miss Pauline” had a host of friends that turned into family. These treasured family friends include: The Ballard Family, Pat VanCamp, Linda Smith, Tracey Crosby, and Keuntaé Cummings. She touched so many lives with her encouraging words and beautiful spirit. She leaves behind her legacy of happiness, strength, and love for all.
