MELVIN DUCHAUAN CARUTHERS

Melvin Duchauan Caruthers, 57, was born on January 13, 1961 to Melvin Caruthers and Gwendolyn Smith in Chicago, Illinois. He received  his wings on July 19, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by love in the form of family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Caruthers and Gwendolyn Smith; brother, Troy Caruthers and twin son, Deshawn Prince Travis. Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Deshawnda (Rashid) Fitzgerald, Lakisha Travis; sons, Melvin Travis and Romeo (Shanee) Travis; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; brother, Darryl Caruthers; special aunt, Mary (Edwin) Hopson; uncle, Edward (Butch) Smith; special cousins, Tori and Tracy Hopson and Butch Smith all of Akron, Ohio especially the northside! Special friend, Melvin Whatley.
