McClinton Millender “Mac” was called home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2017. Mac was born on September 10, 1931 to Cleveland and Letha (Marshall) Millender and Lillian Millender in Evergreen, Alabama. He graduated from Conecuh County Training school at the age of 18. Mac went into the US Army in 1953 where he met the love of his life Doretha Wallace (Little Girl). Mac and Doretha were married on January 11, 1954. In 1955 they moved to Akron, Ohio retiring from the US Army. Mac was employed by Goodyear, Firestone and Alside. Mac loved bartending, working on tv’s, traveling and most of all telling jokes. If you knew Mac you knew that he always had a joke. Mac was always washing and waxing his cars or working in the yard. He loved sitting on the front porch with his wife reading the paper. Mac could make some of the best ribs you’ve ever tasted. The one thing we all knew is he loved his family. He would just sit there watching his family smiling from ear to ear. (We all loved that perfect smile and big dimples). The world has lost a great man but Heaven has gained a strong angel. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Cleveland and Letha Millender and his mother, Lillian Millender; brothers, Ralph and Cary Millender; sister, Eula (Millender) Stallworth; sister-in-law’s, Norma and Marie Millender. He leaves to carry on his legacy his dedicated beautiful wife of 62 years, Doretha Millender; his loving children, Sheila (Kenneth) Mingo, Lionel (Vickie) Millender and Debra (Jerome) Jenkins; siblings, Myrtle Stafford, Catherine (Robert) Stallworth, Cleveland Millender, Willie (Louise) Millender, Juanita (Marvin) Walls, Leonard Millender and Brenda North; loving grandchildren, Lionel (Charise) Millender Jr., Keya (Lavelle), Lawshea, Deshawn and Dion Millender, Prince Jerome (PJ) and Tyree Jenkins, Tayla and Myles Millender; 11 great grandchildren; special friend, Mr. Hunter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 473 Bell Street, Akron, Ohio 44307.
