MARVIN HARRIS Obituary

Mr. Marvin Harris, age 77,  departed this life on Febuary  12th  2018 after an extended illness. Marvin was born March 29th 1940, in Merriweather County Gay, Georgia to the late Eugene and Mattie Lou Gates Harris.  Upon graduation from Mckinley High School Marvin proudly served in The United States Air Force June 16 1960, where he was stationed in a multitude of locations including Ernest Harmon Air Force Base in (Labrador, Newfoundland) and Dow Air Force Base in  (Banger, Main) from which he received an honorable discharged.

Marvin retired from The Timken Roller Bearing Co. after 32 years ending his career as a supervisor.  Always a hard worker, Marvin continued to working at B & S Transport and Rose Lane Nursing Home.  Marvin was an avid fisherman, very intelligent and funny. He had an infectious laugh will be truly missed by all.  

Marvin was preceeded in death by his parents, one son Brian Daniel Harris, brothers Willie Roy ,Willie Gene ,Ben, Danny and Robert H. Harris and one sister Mattie Johnson.

Marvin Leaves to cherish his memory 5 children Jill L. Snell, Marvin E. Harris, Mindi S. Harris, Scott A. (Tonetta) Harris, Marla K. Thompson, Tiffany Averette of Atlanta Georgia and stepson Clarence Williams of Scottsdale, Arizona.  Thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  Loving sisters Emma Lou Anthony (Woodberry, Georgia) Bessie Osteen, Lorena “Sue”Bryant ,Geraldeen Freeman-Lee all of Canton, Ohio,  Terri Shepherd of Akron, Ohio.  Best friends “Wild” Bill Matthews, Booker Long, special friend Renay McPherson and a host of  nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.   .
