Linda was born on February 19, 1949 in Heflin, Alabama to Clyde and Annie (Stephens) Brown. Linda was a graduate of Massillon Washington High school and attended The University of Akron. Linda retired from the Timken Company in 2000, after 30 years of service. She enjoyed shopping for fine jewelry, laughing, traveling, and loving on her family. Linda was a member of Morning Star United Holy Church in Massillon, Ohio where she sang in the choir and enjoyed making crafts for Vacation Bible School.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Willie Clyde Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son Averill A. Draper of New York, New York; brothers, Clarence (Lorain) Brown of Oakland, California, Chester (Johnnie-Mae) Brown of Columbus, Georgia, Charlie (Sarah) Brown of Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Katherine Thomas of Akron, Ohio, Lorene Brown and Clora (Jim) Stinson both of Massillon, Ohio; one aunt, Martha Ball of Oxford, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who she affectionately called her “Chocolates.”
