James Earl (“Greeze”) Lenzy, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2017 at 4:55 pm after an extended illness at Aultman Hospital. He was born on August 7, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Annie Ruth and the late Hezekiah Lenzy. He attended Trump Elementary and Canton South High School where he played on the basketball team. After high school he joined the United States Navy serving during the time of the Vietnam War. He received honorable discharge on April 16, 1966. He married Ruby Cone in 1966. He worked for Diebold and White Motors. Later in life he worked in the field of social services, including The Amer-I-Can Program. He married Alice Holderbaum in 1993. In 1998, he started the Lenzy Family Institute Outreach Program in Highland Park. It ended in 2001. He was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ. He is preceded in death by his wife Alice Lenzy, his father Hezekiah Lenzy, his brother Robert Lee Lenzy and sister Annie Jewel Lenzy. He is survived by sons, James Edward Lenzy and Rashied Lenzy, both of Canton, Ohio, grandsons, James Edward Lenzy, Jr., Jarrell Lenzy and Jarron Lenzy of Canton Ohio. He has three great grandchildren Jahquez Lenzy, Ja’Nesia Lenzy and Alayah Lenzy. He is also survived by his dedicated and loving mother Annie Ruth Lenzy of Canton, Ohio and four brothers, Edward Lee (Ella Mae-decease) Lenzy, Melvin (Wanda) Lenzy, Sr., John (Robin) Lenzy, all of Canton, Ohio, and Charles (Felichia) Lenzy of Fairfield Township, Ohio; six sisters, Maxine (Elder Perry Jr.) Morgan of Southfield, Michigan, Elizabeth Lenzy and Rose Ann Lenzy of Canton Ohio, Jo Ann Lenzy of Indianapolis, Indiana, Paulette Renée Lenzy of West Orange, New Jersey and Pauline Denise (Orlando) Crockett of Chillicothe, Ohio; special friend Bernadette Cuenot of Canton, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  Service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at God Given Church of God in Christ, 1027 Ninth Street, N. E. Canton, Ohio 44704. Calling hours will be at 10:00 am. Elder Ace L. Gillems officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorials Gardens.
