James Nathaniel Howard, was born to the James Norris Howard and Shirleen Rose Howard on March 14, 1976 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was raised in a loving home. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 22, 2018 in Canton, Ohio.
James graduated from Perry High School, along with his siblings. He was a hard worker and very talented. James worked in carpentry and home and commercial improvement for many years. He loved his family and spending time with his children. James was very outgoing riding motorcycles, he also loved the outdoors, fishing and traveling were some of his favorite hobbies. In his school days, he played football and ran track.
He was baptized at a young age at Little Zion AME Zion Church in Sneads Ferry, NC. He later came back and rededicated his life to the Lord under Pastor Reginald Bradshaw.
He will be remembered by many as one who never met a stranger and was always lending a helping hand.
James was preceded in death by his father, James Norris Howard; maternal grandparents, William Clarence and Shirley Batts Simmons; paternal grandparents, Helen Livingston and Nathaniel Howard.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife Nancy Howard and to this union two children were born: his only daughter, Chiara and son, Aidan Howard of Bal Harbour, Florida; children, James, Jr., Tyson and Gavin; mother, Shirleen Rose Simmons Howard of Holly Ridge, North Carolina; siblings, Ladonna Thornton (Victor) of Nashville, Tennessee, Shon Howard (Amy) of Alliance, Ohio, Genia Bailey (Patrick) of Rocky Point, North Carolina, Rasheeda Denny of Canton, Ohio; significant other, Kim Stinnet of Canton, Ohio; god-children, Kahmariyon and De’Asia; aunts, Evelyn Louise Clark of Oakland, California, Sharon L. Shepard (Rudolph, Jr.) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Carrie Diane Rawls (Forest, Jr.) of Atlanta, Georgia, Nanell Elizabeth Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, and Peggy L. Wade (Larry, Sr.) of Las Vegas, Nevada; uncles, William Clarence Simmons, Jr. of Raleigh, North Carolina, James Franklin Simmons of Kinston, North Carolina, and Ronnie Lee Simmons of Raleigh, North Carolina as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
