Gwendolyn (Morris) Green, 67 joined her heavenly father on September 20, 2018.  Born to the late Olive M. (Latson) Morris and James Morris, Sr. on May 24, 1951.
A lifetime resident of Akron, Ohio, she accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and became a proud graduate in the class of 1969 at South High School.
Her family was the center of her joy including a close bond with her siblings Barbara, Big Tommy, James “Bro” and Jeff Morris. Committed to family, she was a lovely mother to two beautiful daughters, Sherice (Morris) Freeman and Shirlene (Morris) Kent and three adorable granddaughters; Rhegan, Rylee and Reiss Kent.Deeply involved in her children’s development, she was a past member of the Buchtel Booster Club and Parent Teacher Association.
Employed and retired with 30 years of dedicated service at Sealright, formerly “Jaite Packaging” Company and Norton Co. for 9 years.  She was a 40 year member of New Hope Baptist Church.  Serving in the Choir, Women of Virtue, a former Chair of the Culinary committee and a supporter of the New Hope Cancer Ministry.  Even with her illness due to complications of diabetes, she felt compelled to lend love and support to survivors of cancer.
Recently celebrating her 10th anniversary, she met and married her devoted husband, Donald G. Green.  Annually, the two cruised throughout the Caribbean Islands with her siblings until her failing health would not allow her to travel internationally.  Cooking and catering were her passion, she thoroughly enjoyed baking and preparing meals for friends, the church and entire family, especially during large holiday gatherings including weddings for friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; James (Olive) Morris, Sr., brother Thomas Morris, Sr. and niece Charlotte Richardson.  She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Donald G. Green, daughters; Sherice (Pastor Gregory) Freeman of Hartville, Ohio; Shirlene (Davon) Kent and Granddaughters; Rhegan, Rylee and Reiss Kent of Ballantyne, NC.  Stepson, Daryl Green.  Siblings; one charming sister Barbara (James) Richardson, brothers; James Morris, Jr. and Jeffrey Morris, all of Akron, Ohio.  Brothers in law, James Richardson, Peter Green, and Reginald Green, Sisters in law Sharon (Tommy) Adams, Linda Morris and a special Niece, Sheila Richardson.  Special classmate and friend, Margie Heflin, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
