DAVID LAMARR WARTHEN

David LaMarr Warthen age 60 of Massillon, Ohio died on July 22, 2018. He was born March 22, 1955 in Aultman, Ohio, to Mae Bell Warthen and the late David Torrence. He lived most of his adult life in Massillon and traveled all around the world as a self-employed long-distance truck driver for over 40+ years. He was  preceded in death by his grandparents Timothy & Rosie Mae Warthen who helped raise him, Susie & Price Torrence and Nicholas & Novella Donald; his father, David Torrence; step father, Washington Carroll, Jr. and brother Anthony Darnell Carroll.

He leaves to remember his life, his mother Mae Bell Warthen of Harrisburg, PA; son, Travell Hendershot of Austell, GA; (5) sisters , Mary Jane (Rodney) Brooks of    Harrisburg, PA,  Rena (Antione) Jackson of Keller, TX, Donnetta Kennard of   Canton, OH, Katina Gray of Montgomery, AL and Pamela Bullock of Columbus, OH; (5 ) brothers,  Renard and Rolland Torrence of Canton, OH, Calvin and Melvin Carroll of Massillon, OH and Dennis Carroll of NY; aunts, JoAnn Warthen (Ronald) Boyd and Willie Alice Campbell of Massillon, OH, Deloris Reece of       Lynwood, CA and Irma Jean Jackson of Canton, OH and special friend Thelma Ann Hendershot of Perry, OH and several nieces and nephews and a host of other  relatives and friends.

David (Las Vegas Dave as he was known too many) enjoyed traveling and trucking, talking on the phone and reaching out to friends and family all around the world.  David was a great cook and loved sharing those meals with family and friends.  David was not a member of Friendship Baptist Church but he was a generous  supporter to them and various other churches throughout the community.
