DAVID "BRUH" GILMORE

David Gilmore, age 67, departed this earthly life on June 22, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio.  David was born October 8, 1951 in Forkland, Alabama to the late Ben and Sadie Gilmore.  He attended  Birdin Sr. High School. He received vocational training through the job corp as a cook.  David began to lose his sight at the age of 19. He and his sister Diana Burton moved to Canton, Ohio in 1975 and he stayed with her until 2018.  David lived a productive life. He worked many years at Higgins workshop for people with disabilities. He received Christ later in life and attended Canton Baptist Temple.  David affectionately known as “Bruh” by his family and friends was a kind and loving person.  He loved watching old TV shows such as the Andy Griffith Show.  He enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and nephew teaching them hand games such as “apples on the table, peach on the floor.”  He enjoyed going out to eat and riding in cars with the dual exhaust.  David really spent a lot of time with his nieces, Shakira, Sharae and Shanae Burton and his nephews Justin and Mykel.  In  addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Levetta Burton; niece, Sadie Mae Burton; (3) nephews, Myron Billing, Nasir Burton, Desjorh  and Keyshawn Burton.  He leaves to cherish his precious memories his sister Diana Burton; brother-in-law, Freddie Burton; nieces,  Rebecca, Doris, Barbara (Walter), Dorothy, Brenda, Caprice; nephews, Robert, Freddie, Thomas and Gary as well as a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
