Reva Delores Dudley was born on August 24, 1932, to union of Willard Frank Dudley and Rebecca Elizabeth Walker Dudley in Oserfield, Georgia. Her family moved to Atlantic Beach, Florida when she was 4 months old and she lived with her parents and sister, Minnie Louise.
She attended Atlantic Beach Elementary School, Douglas Anderson Jr. High and Stanton High School. Delores accepted Christ at the age of 12 years old and was baptized in the St. John River in Florida. After graduating from Stanton, she went to receive her associate degree in elementary education from Edward Waters College.
Delores moved to Akron in 1952 and moved in with her aunt Naomi Williams and attended Akron University. Things changed when she met the love of her life, William Earl Henderson and they were married on June 22, 1957. William already had a son names James, and added to this union were Reva and Paula. Delores joined Shiloh Baptist Church under John Milton Burrell in 1952. When Prince of Peace was born, she became the secretary and devoted herself to the position for many years.
She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Dudley; mother, Rebecca Elizabeth; aunt, Reva Maz Selmon; sister, Minnie Louise Tyler; son, James Henderson; and grandson, Tyronne Henderson.
She leaves to mourn her daughters, Reva (James) Golden, Jr., Paula (Salvatore) Sawyer and Cheryl (Herbert) Johnson, Jr.; brothers, Willard (Lynnette) Dudley and James Wilcox; sister, Tonette Arnold; nephews, Nathaniel (Gwendolyn) Williams, Manuel Hughes and Michael Hughes; close and dear friend, Carolyn Clay; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
