NATHAN WINFIELD Obituary

Nathan entered the world on October 14, 1933 with amazing grace. His parents both deceased are Mary (Charlie) Patten and Nathan Winfield. Nathan as a young man was taught that family, respect, honesty, and attentive work ethics were important attributes to have. Nathan accepted Christ at an early age. As a young man he met, feel in love with, and married his soulmate, best friend, and queen Velma Winfield. They were inseparable and during their early years of marriage they decided to leave MS. In Nathan’s search for a better way of taking care of his family and a life of opportunity they traveled to Akron, Ohio and called it home.  His union of marriage for 65 years provided him with joy and he never had a dull moment in his 90 blessed years.

Nathan was an amazing, proud, outspoken, and a no-nonsense type of man. He was a dedicated brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great grandfather, and brother-n-law who will be missed deeply forever. Nathan traveled the world and took pride in following his grandson, NFL player Antoine Winfield Sr. to his football games. He enjoyed sitting in his favorite lounge chair watching wrestling daily and playing his lottery tickets while holding his Shih Tzu pet Bella. He was an energetic construction worker until his retirement.  Nathan was dedicated, committed to, and proud of his family in every way.

The people he leaves to mourn his absence are his beautiful wife of 65 years Vela Winfield. Two sons:  Ralph Taft, Gary In. and Nathan Winfield, Jr., Akron, Oh. Three daughters: Geraldine Davis (Vladimer) Akron, Oh., Barbara Winfield-Ford, Texas City Tx., and Shirley Winfield, Uniontown Oh., and a special son-n-law Donald Davis.

            Deceased Great Grandson/Son: Donald Carter
