MARY JOHNSON Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (Haslem) Johnson (lovingly known by her family as “Littlesister”) was born on August 11, 1952, in Marshallville, Georgia. She went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2024. She attended Lamson Richardson School in Marshallville, GA, and later North High School in Akron, OH, where she graduated in 1970. Mary also attended Hammel Business College.

 

Mary was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ronald Johnson, Sr. in 1971. She was a faithful member of the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for many years, where she was a dedicated member of the Senior Choir. She was also a dutiful employee of several companies, including Lawson’s, Super      K-Mart, and Circle K.

 

Mary enjoyed doing various puzzles and playing card and computer games. She was very family oriented and was especially close to her mother. She enjoyed spending time with her entire family.

 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Sr. and Mary Jane Haslem, her youngest son, Ryan Johnson, daughter-in-law, Rachelle Johnson, sisters, Ruthie A. Haslem and her twin, Mary L. Bell, brother-in-law, Willie J. Smith, grandson, Demetrion Wilson, and great-granddaughter Lindsay Michelle Rigby.

 

She is survived by her sons Ronald Johnson, Jr., and Reginald Johnson, Sr., sisters, Bettye J. Ferguson, Gwen Smith, and Willie R. Porter, brothers Calvin Haslem, Jr. and Teddie Haslem, special brother Keith Johnson, and special son, Larry Green.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Rai’Nahja, Rai’Yana, Rai’Charr, DaeVonte, DeAir, DeAnthony, Heaven, Delshoun, Dominique, Desiree, Raven Wilson, Tarae, Trevierre, Raven Williams, Reginald Jr., Marcellous, Anesah, Africa, Ryan Jr., and Takarra; in addition to 42 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

 

Mary touched many lives with her presence. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
