April 22, 2024, Marvin Cheatham, Jr. answered his heavenly call, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Marvin was born October 8, 1965, to the union of Marvin Sr. and Carolyn Cheatham. He was a proud and devoted father to his daughter, Genevia Cheatham. He was her provider, best friend, and loved her unconditionally.
Marvin was a lifelong member of the Barberton community and graduated from Barberton High School in 1985. He was a devout member of the Abundant Life Christian Church where he led the congregation in praise and worship service.
Marvin had an unmatched work ethic and started his first job as a teenager at McDonald's. Through the years, he worked at Louisiana Pacific, and ended his career at Yellow Freight. He was a regular volunteer at a local food bank and Forever R Children.
His passion was his family, and you could find Marvin grilling, sitting on his deck, or shopping at his "mall" the Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed working as a handyman, and was an avid Steelers fan.
He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Cheatham, Sr. and his sister Marva Ann Rogers.
His legacy lives on through his daughter Genevia J. Cheatham of Stow, his mother Carolyn Cheatham of Barberton, his sisters Lynette Talbert and Geri Eddings both of Barberton, Rita (Charles) Stuckey of Bedford Heights, brothers Keith Cheatham, Kenneth (Cynthia) Cheatham, and Michael Kenner all of Barberton, Barbara Carson-Cheatham (Mother of Genevia) of Akron, God-daughter Aryn Taylor of Barberton, cousins, Charles Love; friend, Larry Eddings; childhood friend, Gary Johnson of Barberton, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.
