James E. Virden (Bop Daddy), age 80, was born on January 11, 1944, to the late Wilmer E. and Landen Elizabeth Virden. James was born in Choccolocco, AL and was a graduate of Central High. He retired from Babcock and Wilcock (B&W). "Bop Daddy" was a long-time member of the east and south side community. He loved boxing and playing chess and he was a connoisseur of relaxation, but most importantly he loved to be around family. "Bop Daddy" was loved by everyone he met; he had a smile that could light up a room.
James is preceded in death by his grandson, Brennin Millirons; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Plunkett; and special friend, DJ McMurray.
James is survived by his wife, Celestine Virden; daughters, Tammy Millirons (Kevin Rozier) and D'Ana Battle; son, Chester (Tameka) Millirons; grandchildren, Breannin Millitons (Eric, Saniya and Sayanni), Taylor Varner, Geroge Rozier, Solieya Rozier, Xavier Millirons, Tania (Davion) Jeans, Arte (Centiera) Oliver, Chester C. Millirons IV and Brittany Millirons; brothers, Albert (Deanna) E. Virden and Willie (Carmen) A. Virden; brother-in-law, Wayne (Marsha) Terry; sister-in-law, Doris Jean Davis; special friend, Trey (Michelle) McMurray; along with many other great grandchildren, family and friends.
