ANGELA ASKEW Obituary

              It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, cousin and friend, Angela Deloris Gibson. She will be truly missed as she made her transition from labor to reward on April 7, 2024.

Angela Deloris Gibson (Askew) was born August 11, 1968 in Rome,   Georgia to the late Bobby L and Fannie Gibson. Angela was the youngest of four children.

  In 1975, her parents relocated the family to Akron, Ohio; where she attended Akron Public Schools; graduating from East High School in 1985. In 1984 she gave birth to her first daughter, Latasha Gibson. In 1989, she welcomed her 2nd beloved daughter, Candace Brazil. May 2, 1990, Angela married Ben Askew Jr. and to this union they were blessed with two children Chantel Askew and Ben Askew III.

After many years, Angela found love again with the late Irvin Lee. And  after his passing, Angela resided with her daughter Candace until her passing August 7, 2024.

Angie, as she was affectionately known, was a lifetime member of the New Mission Missionary Baptist Church and her favorite color was pink. She loved R&B and old school music. She was the life of the party and loved to dance; sharing her great sense of humor with everyone.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents Bobby L and Fannie Gibson, her eldest sister, Sharon Dean (Lawrence James) nephew Horace “BOO” Lee, niece Azariah Lee and her twin grandchildren Tyson and Kaiden Odens.

Angela is survived by her sisters: Kathy Smith and Edna Gibson. Her loving children: Latasha Gibson (John Ross), Candace (Terrell)     Brazil, Chantel (Tim) Secession, Ben Askew III and a special daughter Lakenya Williams. Grandchildren: D’Niaya Brazil, T’Niaya Brazil, Ca’Niaya Brazil, Terrell Brazil Jr., Trinity Brazil, Alyssia Junius, Kindness Junius, Dream Junius, Darnell Engram Jr., Royalty, Asia, Latashae Inman, Jaela and Jerome Logan and her two nieces: Kaneca Gibson (Deon    Walker) and Shayla Gibson. She was blessed with two great nieces:     MarShay and Eva. Her special friends include: Sophie Lee Lewis,          Veronica Boyer, Laurie White, Jerome (AJ) Reed, Tracey Kelly and     Maurice Carter; special nieces, Trina and  Gloria Lee and her BFC (Best Friend Cousin) Lora Speaight and a other relatives and many close friends to carry on loving memories and times shared with our Angie.
