SUNRISE: November 11, 1951 SUNSET: June 30, 2017
William C. Turner was born November 11, 1951, to Paul J Turner and Wanda O. Ayers, in Toney, Alabama. He departed this life on June 30, 2017. He was a graduate of Timken Senior High School in 1970, where he played football.
William labored hard throughout his life and strived to provide a better life for himself and his family. He received his Engineering Technology certification from Stark State College of Technology, in Canton, Ohio, upon which he obtained employment as an Asbestos Hazard Abatement Specialist. He was a proud man who was faithful to his church and his Lord, and he loved his children and family dearly. He was member of Community Life Church of God In Christ for over 20 years, where he served as the Men’s Sunday School teacher, Chairman/Co-Chairman of the Pastor and Wife’s Anniversary Committee, and a member of Kings R Us Men’s Ministry. He took much pleasure serving the community as the President of Community Life’s Salt and Light Ministry for 3 years.
Known as “Bill”, “Weeyum”, “T”, “Billy”, “Paw-Paw Bill”, “Daddy”, “Will”, “Elder”, “ET”, “Pops”, and “Coach T”, William’s love for people was so great, he made everyone feel like family. Committing his life to God in January, 1981, Elder Turner lived fulfilling what began and completed his ministry, “A Charge I have to keep, and a God to glorify (2 Timothy 4: 1-5, 18)”. He was the personification of love. It was his purpose. He walked his purpose until his last breath.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Paul J Turner, mother, Wanda O. Fowler, brother, John Vance, and sisters Ida Mae Ellis, Victoria Turner, Jannice Turner, and Brenda Fowler.
