James Williams, “Boxcar” passed away suddenly on May 20, 2017, He was born on September 21, 1935, in Columbus, GA. He moved to Ohio as a young child and was educated in the Canton City School System. Later, he was enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged. He retired from Timken Company which he had over 40 years of service. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Affairs (VFW). He loved helping others and always reached out to not just family but friends he met along his journey of life. He was a blessing to many and he had the most contagious sound of laughter you will ever hear. He was affectionately known as “Boxcar” to his family and friends.
He preceded in death by his late parents Lucille and Gus Williams and his brother Edward Williams (JoAnne). James is survived by his three children, Kenyatta Williams of Canton, Ohio, Dawn Day of Canton, Ohio and Veronica Young (Anthony) of Stockbridge, Georgia; grandchildren, David Day, Kenyatta Christopher Howard -Williams, Arayah “Ray Ray” Williams, Latoya Richardson, Marcus Young, Ashayra Day, Charis Day; sisters, Zeara Pratt of Lyndhurst, Ohio and Nancy Sewell of Chester, PA; brother, Nathan Reynolds of Dearborn, MI;nieces, Christina and Cindy. Nephews, Christopher, James, Nathan and Marion; “special nieces”, Tracey Williams, Angela Williams and special nephew, Jermell Williams; great grandchildren, Sinai, Zion, AJ, Arielle, Mehki, Jalen and Noland; "special daughter", Kim Anderson; "special granddaughter", Dawanna Grant and a host of family members.
