Elister Campbell, 82, was born December 13, 1933 in Forkland, Alabama to the late Loretta and Jessie Green. Then went home to be with her heavenly Father on June 16, 2017. She moved to Canton at the age of 10. Elister graduated from McKinley Sr. High School. She retired from Van Kay and The Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities. She loved fishing and gardening. She was an avid church member at Mount Olive Baptist Church where she was president of the Nurses Guild, served as an usher on the International Ushers Association, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, a pastor’s aide, Missionary Society, Mother’s Board and the O’Jay Parkway Empowerment Neighborhood Association. She is preceded in death, her by her mother Loretta Jackson; father, Jessie Green; step-mother, Eliza Green; grandmothers, Virginia Slay and Isabell Green; grandfather, Tommy Slay; (3) uncles, Willie and Tommy Slay, and Willie Green; (3) brothers, Eugene, John, and Willie Green. Elister is survived by her god-daughter, Erica Green; (4) devoted brothers, Augusta Green, Jessie Benison, McKinley (Irene) Green, Herman Green all of Canton, Ohio; (6) devoted sisters, Francis Glenn, Isabell Gulley, Carrie Turner all of Canton, Ohio, Alice Green of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mary (Kenneth) Mims and Rebecca Monroe of Detroit, Michigan; sister-in-law, Barbara Green; special friends, Pam Fite, Alice Hamilton, Mary and Lemmel Dotson, Linda and Perry Range, Perry and Martha Miles, Cora Moss, Becky Eyster, Dean Ormiston, Pastor Tommie and Teresa Brewer, William and Lillie Brewton.
