On August 19, 2016 Carolyn “Kay” Ballard was called home to be with our Lord. She was born Nov. 5, 1958 in Canton, Ohio. She graduated from Timken Vocational High School. She was a member at Peoples Baptist Church. At the church she was a part of the transportation department. Driving was her passion. She was a driver at Canton Preschool, as well as ABCD here in Canton. Some of the things she    enjoyed doing was; playing cards, music, and being around her family. If you really knew her, then you knew that line dancing was her favorite hobby. Any chance she got she went to twirl, two-step and chi-chi as long as she could. She also was a fierce shopper! Kay did her best to raise her four kids. She wasn’t just a loving mother to her own kids but to every child she encountered. She was the best snack buyer in the neighborhood. She was known for her flamboyant style. To know her was to love her. Kay was a kindhearted person, but understand she could definitely hold her own when needed. Her ultimate joy nowadays was spending time with her awesome grandkids. Preceded in death by her father Edward Ballard, Sr. , (2) sisters, Patricia Ballard, Donna Goodman. Kay leaves to cherish her loving memory her mother Alice L. Ballard; (4) loving children, Jocque Ballard, Jacquelyn Ballard, Jerome Ballard, Jerrod (Cierra) Ballard; special son, Tommy Jones, daughter in law Teriese Smith (3) amazing grandkids, Armon Green, Pazania Howell, Jocara Ballard; siblings, Christine Evans, Edward (Tracey) Ballard, Jr. Deborah (Haywood) Freeman, David Ballard as well as a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
