On Tuesday April 19th, 2016 Aurora Freeman Chavers- Hunter transitioned to the spiritual realm. She fought a strong fight as she battled with her illness. Aurora retired from Ameritech in 1999, and went back to work soon after. She was most  recently employed at VXI as a customer service representative. She always had a strong work ethic and was very consistent in all that she did.
At a young age Aurora became a member of Antioch Baptist Church, and enjoyed learning and worshipping under the tutelage of Rev. Henderson. Aurora   enjoyed praising and worshipping the most High!
Aurora Freeman Chavers- Hunter was born on December 19th 1948 in Clarkton, North Carolina to the late Harold Freeman, and Annie Knowles- Freeman. She is preceded in death by her older siblings Bobby (Geraldine and Norma)  Freeman,  Gloria (Clarence) Willis, William McKinley (Theresa) Freeman, Harold (Annette) Freeman, Thomas Freeman, Gracie (Edward) Kennard; husband Ronald Otis Chavers, son Ronald II (Dax) Chavers, and niece Linda (Freeman) Simon- Myrick.
Aurora loved spending quality time with her family, playing heart felt music, and often looked forward to playing spades, backgammon, or just simply lending an ear, giving advice to those who needed her assistance. She was always the life of the party, and full of love which overflowed onto everyone that she knew. She liked to have a good time, but was always genuine in character and she would often “tell it like it is”. Many people loved hearing her call them Suga, or Handsome! She was           affectionately known as “Mom, Nana, Bootsie, and Bishop to those that knew her.
Aurora leaves to cherish her memories, her loving daughters Carla Chavers Calhoun (Lou), Whitney Hunter (Dawon Grant), and loving son Victor (Michelle Chavers), caring sister; Delores (Preston) Thomas, loving brothers; Nathaniel (Delores) Freeman, David & Isaac Freeman, and Elijah (Geraldine) Freeman, and 6 precious grandchildren; Paris (Denise) Chavers, Dominique Chavers, Dax Chavers, Travis Wirth, Brandon & Trent Chavers, and 9 Great Grand Children, special niece, Tiffany Kennard, Cousin Bobbie Chavers, life –long, friend Denise Jones,  host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
