Antony J. West, Sr. age 33, was born to Cherry West and John Yeager on April 14, 1983 in Bellaire, Ohio. “A.J.”, as he was affectionately called, went to home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Massillon, Ohio. With strong determination and drive A.J. returned to school and obtained his diploma to complete his education. With a smile that could light up a room, he was a very happy go lucky person, always making others laugh and able to pull a smile out of even the toughest person. A.J. loved his family, his children were the center of his heart. He had a special way with children that caused them all to love interacting with him and want to be near him. He loved all aspects of music, singing, dancing and playing, he was a very gifted artist. He enjoyed artistry, especially tattooing and he was very good at it. During his lifetime he worked at various jobs throughout the area. A.J. was preceded in death by his brother Derrick Justin West; aunt, Geraldine Thomas; father-in-law, Donald Ely; uncles, Terrence K. Ruffin, Dennis J. Ruffin, Keith A. Quincy. He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his wife Erica Joy West; (4)sons, Antony J. West, Jr. and Jeremiah West (special friend Ton’ya West) all of Columbus, Georgia, Scottie Yarchak II and Joseph Laboucane, Jr.; (1) daughter, Elyonna A. West all of Massillon, Ohio; mother, Cherry West of Mansfield, Ohio; father, Arch L. (Jacqueline Ruffin) Bell, Sr. of Canton, Ohio; (4) brothers, Arch L. Bell, Jr., Jermaine “Chaud” (Letti) Ruffin of East Lansing, Michigan, Anthony “Ant” Ruffin, Quinten L. “Marr” Burt of Canton, Ohio; aunts, Linda Wright, Lauren Thomas, Joy Kessler, JoAnn West, Tracey Rufin, Rosiland A. Bell, Desiree Rinkes, Jonnie Niebert; uncles, Padarol Christian, William West, Robert West, Greg West, Gary West, Brian West, David Blancher, Michael Bell, Sheldon Lewis; great aunts/uncles, Mark (Kendra) Moore, Cathy Ruffin, John H. (Sharon “Bootsy”) Johnson, Linda Ruffin; mother & father-in-law, Rev. Earl (Janie) Thicke as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, close relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.   Services will be held in Antony’s honor on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11am, Rhoden Memorial Home, 729 Cherry Ave. N.E., Canton, Ohio 44702. Visitation will be from 10am until time of service. Donations are appreciated in lieu of flowers and may be sent to Rhoden Memorial Home Canton location.
