Andre Pierre Howard affectionately known as “Drakey”, age 60, went home to be with the Lord after a good long fight with cancer on January 26, 2018. He was born on June 19, 1957 in Canton, Ohio to Gearline Holman (Howard). Andre graduated from McKinley Senior High School in 1975. After graduation he joined the Unites States Army. He worked at Republic Steel Company, the Hyde House, Minerva Manufacturing and the Post Office for many years before landing his beloved job with SARTA bus station. He also operated his own lawn care business for many years. Andre was an exceptional fisherman, known for traveling the world, especially to the Cincinnati Jazz Festival. He was also an outstanding bowler. He enjoyed playing cards with his card buddies and spending time with his loving wife whom he met at SARTA. Andre was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Rosa Lee Taylor “Bunny”;maternal great aunt, Emma Lee Jackson, and James Edward Howard “Fats”, who raised him unconditionally as his own. He is survived by his wife Yolanda Howard; daughter, Shalanda M. Latimore (Dwayne); grandchildren, Quiante Pryor and Alanna Latimore; mother, Gearline Holman (Howard); sisters, Wendy M. Ross (who celebrates the same birthday as Andre), Denise K. Bell, Marisha L. Holman; brothers, Robert M. Howard and Edward W. Howard as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
